Kappou Magosuke — Restaurant in Kanazawa

We came across this place by chance. On the sign it was written that they don't speak English here, but we went in nonetheless. The welcome was very friendly. After we saw the menu we realized that it is not necessary to know Japanese, there are pictures of every dish so we just pointed to everything we wanted. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, 3 starters and two mains. I must say that everything was very tasty! The meat was very soft and juicy. In addition we ordered rice with octopus, it was very special. The rice was cooked great and the octopus was not sticky and dry. In addition to that, the owner of the place invited us to two shots of 12-year-old Japanese whiskey at the expense of the house and dessert as well. After visiting several places in Japan this is the place I enjoyed the most. The price for a couple turned out to be very cheap compared to my country. The food was amazing, most of the dishes we had never tried before. They indeed do not speak english, but we were welcomed warmly as foreigners, and the ordering takes place through an online menu so the language barrier is not problematic.
