July 2023 Quality wagyu with reasonable price 👏 Tried lunch combo and the special kobe beef sirloin combo (large). We did not regret spending any penny (I should say yen) here! Starters: Fresh green salad with signature local onion dressing that wad sweet and refreshing with a tiny bit of tanginess! The kabocha soup was served cold as well and probably one of the best I've tried! And the steak: Sirloin steak was juicy and melting in my mouth as soon as it touched my tongue! Couldn't describe any better than that. If you want to maximize the flavor, try it with their signature onion sauce. Peanut sauce was ok. The lunch combo steak came with a little bit thicker/American style rib eye cut looking steak. Good for the value yet highly recommend that you should spend extra $ to get the special sirloin or even go with the rib steak! Reservation recommended even if you want to dine in for weekday lunch. Card accepted and even if you didn't make a reservation, there's a waiting room right next to the restaurant. Bon Appétit!

This is the place! We visited Kobe and wanted steak experience. Luckily our hotel is only a few walk away and chose Propeller from reading thru reviews too. The experience is sublime, not pretentious and kind of laid back ambience. Amuse Bouche started the journey and our mouth danced. It was followed by minestrone, simple but soulful. My two kinds of Kobe delight was a burst of explosions in my mouth, hubby helped me and he ohhh and ahh. He chose another set equally satisfying. The dinner was capped with ice cream laced with berry compote and almond brittle. It was paired with ohhh black coffee, hubby had it straight while mine was laced heavily with cream. Another mention, the bread, ohhhh bread. Hubby's red was fine, my sparkling was alright. Shall we do it again, of course with another visit to this beautiful city with its awesome Arima Onsen. Propeller got it's name from old airplane propeller of course, with few proudly displayed. Propel your tummy to an unforgettable night, go forward to Propeller😍👏👏

Food: 5 - Satisfying and value for money. The doneness of my normal steak was just nice. My wife’s Kobe steak had a “melt in your mouth”quality and paired well with the full bodied French red wine. Warning! The fresh off the oven bread is irresistible. We were offered seconds which we gladly accepted. Atmosphere: 5 - the main dining area is cosy and earns a 4. The plus one is given to the thoughtfully air conditioned side waiting area decorated eclectically. Service: 6 - we did a walk-in and was politely advised (in Mandarin) by a staff, Ms Su, as to how long it would take. Thereafter Ms Su kept us updated whenever she appeared in the waiting area. The service team’s focus on customer delight came into evidence when my son spilled his ice cream and stained his shirt. Ms Su provided a soapy cloth to clean the stain while her colleague unexpectedly provided a replacement ice cream. Overall, we had a wonderful experience made possible by a thoughtful service team.

The place is easy to find, only several minutes walk from the train station. When I got there (around 1.30pm) there's a line but the queue moved fast enough and the server was very attentive to the people outside; she came and go several time to make sure we're doing ok and to informed us about the table & menu. They have several Kobe beef set meal to offer (set is complete with appetizer, soup, side dish like rice or bread, drinks after meal, and dessert of the day), ranging from 4800 to 6500 yen. If you don't read Japanese, they provide an English menu as well. I tried their Kobe beef rump steak and it was okay. I got the sense that it's a quality beef but it lack of that 'melty' Kobe beef experience I was looking for. Tl;dr I think food wise it tasted subpar and nothing special, but service was superb, reasonable price, plus the place is charming.

Wow. We came and were very lucky to arrive when there was no crowd, so we only needed to wait about 20-30 minutes before being seated. The lunch options were tempting, but we decided to live it up and really go for the full experience. We each got one of the five course meals. This included a five-taste appetizer (an appetizer plate with five different items), a cream of cabbage soup with pork, freshly baked bread (the bread is unlimited if you ask), the Kobe beef, and coffee with dessert. Harrison got a variation that came with a lobster tail. We were blown away by absolutely everything that was brought out. Every item had a unique and bold flavor, and we left very satisfied. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. The ambience of the restaurant is very homey and comfortable. Thank you all for such a delicious meal and wonderful experience!
