I am starting to really enjoy the consistency of the Daiwa Roynet chain of hotels. When looking for options in Kobe, I immediately selected Daiwa Roynet Kobe Sannomiya. It was reasonably priced and looked to be in the middle of everything in Kobe.||||Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, the walk from the Sannomiya train station is a bit further than it appears. It still isn't more than 10 to 15 minutes but keep that in mind if you are dragging around suitcases like I was. I enjoy the walk and the distance from the train station meant that it was also quieter.||||The hotel itself was like the other Daiwa that I have stayed at. Check-in was fast and friendly. Check-out was even faster as you just do it at the machine. The lady checking me in did not speak English as fluently but was able to communicate. However, when I asked her for a restaurant recommendation, all she could do was show me a pamphlet with a list of restaurants. It isn't a problem, she isn't a concierge and I certainly wasn't expecting one.||||The room itself was big enough for one person. My two luggage did require a little bit of tetris to make sure they don't get in the way. Everything was clean and functional. There just isn't a lot of wasted space at these hotels. Just as importantly, the internet was fast!||||The location meant that you were a short 10 to 15 minute walk from all the main restaurants. If you are looking for Kobe beef, there are probably 8 to 10 reputable restaurants within walking distance.||||I would definitely recommend the Daiwa Roynet and would stay there again if I...

Read moreWe stayed a week in this impressive hotel. The hotel is near Kyoto train station and located close to everything. Apart from the hard beds, (our preference is for a soft mattress), we loved our stay here. The room was well-appointed, spacious, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was luxurious. The rain shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. We probably stayed a bit too long under it! The hotel is beautiful and tranquil in all aspects; from the gigantic lobby, to the individually styled elevators, to the whisper quiet corridors, to the relaxing executive lounge and serene rooms. Everything is done by the staff to ensure a peaceful and relaxing stay. The staff were exceptional – professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, polite – I could go on. Suffice it to say the staff are highly trained and expert at their jobs. We had some delicious meals in the Italian restaurant – yes, I know, Italian! However, the hotel is purely Japanese and decorated beautifully. My husband even took a picture of the ceiling in the lobby – it was so gorgeous. We enjoyed our stay here immensely and can confidently recommend this...
