Norari Kurari — Restaurant in Kobe

A typical mom n pop cafe located in the shopping alley shotengai of busy Kobe city, reminiscent of the by gone showa era but with some touches of the millennium n artistic inclinations displayed. Several interesting pieces (paintings) are displayed with price tags tag presumably to assist any aspiring up and coming local artists.

Coffee here is particular to a brand and one is encouraged to try the variety of concoctions. There’re cakes, biscuits n the usual accompaniments to go with one’s beverage and true to Japanese tastebuds they are neither overly sweet nor creamed merciless. It’s a quiet respite to have a snack or even a meal (small menu available) here n the ambiance is naturally serene, unhurried n relaxed. When all is done one feels the melancholy urge to stay just a wee bit longer but …. ah the city beckons and so the respite is ended with a promise to return again in the not too distant future.
