I visited last year by myself and it remains one of my favourite meals. The chef is a very nice man who prepares the food with lots of skill and attention to detail.
Everything from the beginning tea to the final dessert was flavourful and memorable. I only speak a little Japanese, but the chef was happy to chat with me and explain the different dishes, ingredients, and cooking processes. Each course of the meal was flavourful and beautifully presented.
I ordered the lunch udon course (Seigetsu 霽月), but I wish I was able to stay for dinner too and continue talking with the chef while he cooks more delicious food. Hopefully I can visit Kotohira again so I can enjoy another...
