Although they've got a couple of lunch options, I had to get the local specialty: bone-in chicken. Takes about twenty minutes to prepare and comes with soup, salad, and rice. Well-seasoned and juicy, but it's probably the American in me that's going, "Sure, it's good, but... like... it's just a leg of chicken."

Cozy izakaya atmosphere. Popular among local and tourists. Fast and efficient services. The『さぬき名物骨付鳥』bone-in chicken thighs are seasoned with garlic spice and carefully baked in high temperature oven for for 20-30 minutes. This local gourmet specialty is highly recommended.

Staff was friendly! We were able to order on an iPad although we did have to use the google lens to translate as there was no option to switch languages. Food was delicious! We heard the area was known for their whole chicken thighs and it was super juicy and tender.

「琴平市的夜晚暗得很快，過了6點後，大部分的店家都已休息，於是你在琴平旅館街附近最常看到，就是骨付鳥田中屋連鎖店。」 我很喜歡日本老街的夜晚，車少人也少，走起來最輕鬆閒適。還有一個原因是，沿途總會看到一些老店，可能是居酒屋，也可能是烏龍麵或拉麵店，像是發著亮光的捕蚊燈一樣，將老街本不多的人潮們聚集於此。 日本這樣的老街區，很多並不是所謂的觀光勝地，它只是尋常日本市民的居住地，說特地來訪也不是，只能在路途上偶爾經過，而這樣的老街區往往隨著時代趨於沒落，更顯其珍貴。 琴平就是這樣的地方，它是香川裡面的小市街，熱鬧的區域大多都是在金刀比羅宮的參道附近。其中「骨付鳥田中屋」的連鎖店就有不少家在這裡。它的主打是骨付鳥，也就是帶骨雞肉，您可能會說帶骨雞肉有什麼難得的，在台灣的市場常能買到燒雞，無一不是連骨切塊。 這裡的骨付鳥特別有趣，以雞腿為主，分若雞與親雞。若雞也就是我們常見的雞肉，飽滿厚實多汁，然而親雞也就是俗稱的老母雞，大多熬湯使用，在日本很少能在市面上買到。於是很多人來到田中屋品嚐親雞的烤雞腿，在那之前，我便想說說需要先有的心理準備。 一般來說，親雞的飼育天數約750天，算是很成熟的雞隻，其肉質較為緊實硬韌，不諱言的說，如果你沒有剪得小塊剛好入口，整塊吃起來就跟橡皮一樣。當然若雞就柔軟許多，一般來說若雞約為年齡90天內的雞隻，可見兩者之差異。 但若是您小塊小塊吃，親雞的風味或油脂極為濃郁，有著雞汁的鮮甜與香腴，其肉質耐咬，越吃越香，很適合嚐鮮。不過琴平的夜晚還沒結束，在田中屋淺嚐親雞後，別點太多，不妨就近找一家烏龍麵店吃飽，有肉有麵，又能走上幾步，感受老街氣息，真的是琴平最適合的遊玩方式。

One of famous meals in Kagawa pref, “bone-in chicken” was wonderful. You can choose matuer or young chickens, I recommend mature ones with a strong taste. Don't forget to order also beer!

Local delicacy grilled chicken. You have a choice of old/young chicken. Note the old chicken is very very tough. It is quite expensive at around 3000 yen
