yesterday I had lunch at this place that prepares one of the specialties of mount koya or koyasan, namely sesame tofu.
I showed the celiac travel card and I was told that I could have one of their gluten free soups that were on the menu. I chose the one called "fake chicken", in which there is tofu fried in rice flour batter.

they also have a small souvenir shop near the entrance where you can pick up some tofu gifts.
although the prices are on the higher side and there can be a long wait, especially during lunch hours, the experience and peaceful atmosphere make it worth it. they also have a few other branches around koyasan if this one gets...
