I noticed the sign for this place as soon as I arrived in Koyasan and as my room at the temple stay wasnât quite ready I popped over there for a coffee. As other reviewers have mentioned the owners are a super nice couple who clearly love what they do. They make exceptional cakes & sandwiches and even homemade jam ( divine) and everything is done with care and attention to detail. The coffee is delicious and strong and they even have sockets to charge your phone while you enjoy your coffee, juice or meal. Bathroom is mega clean and the place looks lovely with an interesting selection of vintage tea cups and caddies behind the counter. Unfortunately when I was in Koyasan they were closed for 2 of the 5 days I was there but I made sure to stop by for one of Tommys extra strong coffees and a light snack ( and some of Nanaâs homemade yuzu soda ) before I left. Highly recommended.
Ps. September 2025 update * they have new cakes - which are not to be missed! Rum &...
Read moreI stayed in the Guesthouse connected to this cafe and decided to see if their cafe was as amazing as their accommodation- and it was that and more!! Tommy and his wife are such kind, welcoming individuals, always ready to strike up a conversation (superb English!!), and the food was to die for- it was easily the best breakfast of my entire trip to Japan, WAY better than the infamous Happy Pancake. Their fruit was fresh and local. Very cute vibe. I think the food was well worth the price for the lovely service, yummy food, and simply to support a local business in this breathtaking town. I hope to return to KĆyasan and have a meal...
Read moreWhat a fantastic cafe in the hills of Koyasan! We stumbled across this restaurant purely by seeing the signs on the street beckoning us to a little hidden alleyway. What a gem of a spot! The owners (husband & wife duo?) were incredibly warm and welcoming and helped guide us on what to order. We had 2 chicken croissant sandwiches and the seasonal fig cake. This was exactly what we needed after 3+ hours of walking around this gorgeous town.
Donât leave Koyasan without...
