This is the worst restaurant experience we've had since coming to Japan. We arrived at 11:15, and there were only 3-4 tables occupied in the restaurant. After we sat down, a table by the waterfall became available. Since we hadn’t ordered anything yet, we wanted to move to the table by the waterfall, but our request was denied. They told us that once we’re seated, we couldn't change tables even that table was not reserved. During our meal, a particularly large bee flew around our food for five minutes and was trying to “land on” our food, the stuff saw it but ignored it and didn’t help us get rid of it. We had to fend it off ourselves, risking bee stings, for five minutes. Furthermore, after I ordered a soda, even though I waited 15 minutes for it to be opened, it still sprayed all over my food, my clothes, and the table. The staff saw this but remained indifferent, not even offering us napkins or helping to clean the table. If you're looking for a restaurant with extremely poor service, this is the place to go ordering a soda, I waited 15 minutes for it to be opened, but when it was finally opened, it sprayed all over my food, my clothes, and the table. The staff saw this and remained indifferent, not even offering napkins to us. If you’re looking for a restaurant with extremely poor service, this is the...
Read moreI don’t know what the others are complaining about, but going here made my entire WEEK better. I was disappointed with the amount of tourists near Kifune Shrine, and it’s clear that other tourists’ bad actions and crowding have resulted in restaurants becoming more strict with who comes. I was able to get a seat here, and everyone was so incredibly kind. And I happily sat on the river, which made the environment feel so much calmer and the river made the area feel temperate.
All I can say is, honor the area’s natural tranquility, and it’ll return to you. Don’t go in extremely large groups, and don’t be...
Read moreWhat a find amidst the crowded ( full) places and overpriced menus elsewhere. Just as we thought all was lost and we’d eat back in the city, we stumbled across this beautiful spot… limited but lovely ( Korean this year) menu, really good priced food and beer considering all other places and the most beautiful setting. Writing this with feet in the river sat next to our table. Delightful staff, too… unexpectedly very happy in...
