Nestled near one of Japan's most beautiful temples, I discovered a gem of a coffee shop that will forever hold a special place in my heart. Chiyomi, the gracious host, made my visit unforgettable with her kindness and generosity.
The moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped by the cozy, inviting ambiance. It felt like a sanctuary, a perfect blend of warmth and tranquility. I settled in with a slice of their exquisite matcha cake and a double hot chocolate, both of which were delightful and comforting.
Chiyomi's hospitality was the highlight of my experience. Her attentiveness and warm smile added a personal touch that made me feel truly welcome. I found myself lingering for hours, reading and savoring the serene atmosphere.
This coffee shop is, without a doubt, one of the best cozy places I've ever visited in Japan. Thanks to Chiyomi, my time there was not just a visit but an experience to cherish. If you find yourself near the temple, don't miss the chance to visit this...
Read moreOne of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had! We randomly chose this place as it was close to Fushimi Inari, only about a 20 minute walk. The food exceeded my expectations! We got French toast and scrambled egg toast, as well as a couple different coffees. Everything was so delicious! The bread was moist and fresh. The eggs were shambles perfectly, the French toast was the perfect sweetness, and coffee was brewed to perfection. The best part was the staff! They were absolutely phenomenal. So incredibly kind and accommodating even despite us knowing no Japanese. They were so helpful with all of our questions, they went above and beyond in every way. The experience was quite traditional, as you remove your shoes when you enter and also sit on the floor which we loved! There is an option to sit at a table, if you prefer. The tables overlook a beautiful garden. I really can’t recommend enough! It was very fairly priced as well. If I’m back in Kyoto I will...
Read moreThis is the best breakfast that my husband and I had while in Japan. I was drawn to it because it allowed for traditional Japanese seating so we chose the Tatami seating by the window which looked out onto the garden area they had (though they do have regular seating options as well). They had floor fans to help move the air around and there was English translations on the menu for travelers which was a plus. We had some coffee and orange juice as well as the egg on toast and French toast for our breakfast. The bread was light and fluffy for both dishes and the taste was excellent. They were also very friendly and it definitely felt like we were visiting someone’s home. It had a very cozy and welcoming environment and is a must try in Kyoto. I will most certainly try to go back if we get the chance to...
