What a spot! We are absolutely loving our stay. It's definitely out of the way which is quite nice to be away from all the hustle and bustle.
The craftsmanship of the place is amazing. The smell of the timber lingers through the air. It's obviously a setting of a more traditional experience. The bathroom and bath is amazing, bedding great and its nice to have a good washing machine.
Only things I could say is there are a lot of bugs. It is sumner time, and near a river so it probably can't be helped. Also, maybe some dusting and checking for cobwebs needs to be done, but this is grasping at straws. Would definitely reccomend to anyone! We are a family of 4 and it...

Basic amenities and supplies for cooking, washing, and bathing were provided too. The hosts were quick to respond and accomodating as well. What would have made it a perfect stay would be some additional coat or wall hangers within the house. Read moreWe have 3 children aged 6,9,11 and this was perfect for us. Great location - close to Kyoto station and still walkable to Nishi Markets (our kids did it twice 40min or so). There are parks around the corner also, and the cycle way opposite. The house is impeccably clean, and the bathroom is quite a luxury. The kitchen is small but with the dining room also we could manage. The umbrellas were a nice touch given we had quite a bit of rain. I would highly recommend for a large family of 5...
