It is always lively here, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The food is also good, especially the tomato salad. The meat ball (hambagu) is also pretty good. That being said, there are plenty of places around here where you don't have to wait as long to get a hambagu of similar or better quality.

Another problem is that it always feels rushed here, both staff and customers. Our baby almost got hit multiple times by cars in the busy parking lot behind the restaurant because of people trying to rush to get a seating ticket. I also often see people run across the busy street without waiting for the traffic light just to get their ticket quicker, sometimes with their children; dangerous! The restaurant experience itself, too, feels rushed: you feel as if you should order quickly, and the staff seems too busy to really take the time for you. You get the sense that overall, you should just sit, order, and eat quickly so that the next person may come.

Overall, therefore, it is about what you value. If you don't mind waiting long, there is decent food, and you can tell people you ate at a famous restaurant. On the other hand, if you like to enjoy food by spending meaningful time with loved ones in a relaxed environment, there are...

They make best Mont Blanc, with a thick layer of chestnut cream. I have lived here for years and have tried multiple other places, and Touyoutei has the best of all. We specifically go there routinely just to get it as takeaway. They place a thick layer of chestnut and this makes it the most fabulous compared to others. The restaurant is over 120 years old so of course it is perfection. Their Hamburg steak with baked potato is well known in town and can also be taken out. They have a cold tomato dish with tuna sauce that is great as an appetiser.

Interestingly, their fettuccine is the best in Kyoto in my opinion, and they are not even an Italian restaurant! The creamy cheese sauce is perfect.

15:01に整理券GET。 一見して人が居ないので直ぐに食べられるだろうと思い、呼出の電話は不要としたのが失敗だった。 沢山の先客が電話で呼ばれるのを、外で散歩しながら待ち、時間になって戻ってくるため、店内には一見人がが居ないように見える。 とんでもなかった。めちゃ先客がいた。 それに気付き、電話呼出に変更してもらう様に頼んだら、無理だとのこと。 ITリテラシーが乏しい店だ。 絶対に電話呼出にした方が良い。 結局16:04にテーブルに着けたので、1時間以上待った。

その後、トイレに行ったが、トイレットペーパーの切れ端があちこちに落ちて汚い(画像参照)。 まるで駅の公衆トイレのようだった。 客捌きに夢中で清掃まで行き届かないようだ。 見たところ、スタッフはフロアで6-7人は居たのだが、あの席数で回らないのか〜 と思って見ていた。 満席とか言う割に、単に片付けてないテーブルで埋まってしまってるだけだったが… テーブルも客が退席してから10分以上経過しても片付ける事なくそのままだった(2テーブルの片付けられてない画像参照) 多分、待たされるのはこのせいだと思う。 高齢者の主任スタッフの女性が細かくスタッフ達に指示を出していたが、手が回らないのか全く進行しない。 この主任スタッフの女性が、客に慇懃無礼で失礼な高齢者なので、性格に難ありだと思う。だから現場の信頼関係が崩壊しているのだろう。 気が利くフリだけして、失礼な態度だ。 他の若手スタッフの態度は悪くはないが臨機応変さが圧倒的に足りてない。 きっとブラック企業なんだろう。

席につき、100年ハンバーグ？みたいな名前のCセットをオーダー。 口コミ画像で出てくるトマトの丸ごとサラダ的な物が出てきた。 テーブルに食べ物を提供したのに、カトラリーがなく、手で食えと？ マジで意味わからない。 黙っていると、気付いたのか、やっとカトラリーを提供されて、高齢者のおばさんが謝ってきたが、謝ったふりだけしている印象だった。

驚くほどにただのトマトだった。 あんなにこぞって画像に載せるほどのものでもない。 家でも食べられる。 ツナと玉ねぎのソースのようなモノがかけられていたが、それすら自作可能なレベルだ。

次にマッシュルームのポタージュ。 こちらは美味しかった。 後味が乳製品の乳臭さが残ったので、チーズか牛乳を使ってると思う。

次にメインのハンバーグと、国産じゃがいもの蒸したモノ。 ハンバーグのソースの中にはマッシュルームやインゲン豆も入っていて、こちらは普通だった。 並ぶほど、、、ではなかった。。 並ばなくても、普通の洋食屋さんのハンバーグでそれ以上でもそれ以外でもない。 そして2500円払う価値はない。 せいぜいセットメニューで1200円だ。 ハンバーグ単品なら、祇園の「挽肉と米」の方が美味しい。 ただ、どちらも並ぶ。。 付け合わせのジャガイモは、ほっくりしてて美味しい。 これはハンバーグソースを付けて食べるのがオススメで、ご飯にするよりパンにしないとじゃがいもを全て食べきれないくらい量が多い。

その後、 カモミールティーとクレームブリュレが来た。 スイーツとお茶は選べれる。 クレームブリュレは、わざわざワゴンを持ってきて焦がす作業を見せてくれる。 おもてなし感は出るが、この時間を取って優雅な感じを客に与えるより、焦がしたものを提供した方が客の回転率を上げられるのに、と思った。 クレームブリュレとお茶は美味しかった。 Cセットは2480円だが、クレームブリュレは+20円で2500円となった。 値段に見合わない程度の食べ物だった。

これが京都に来たら食べないと後悔する食べ物ランキングに入る理由がさっぱりわからなかったが、百聞は一見にしかずなので、来て良かった。...
