The bartender Takumi is well-versed in his whisky and shochu, and his cocktails are fantastic. I didn’t know much about shochu before coming here, and he poured small samples of a few different ones for us to try. He also customised a cocktail based on the one I liked most – shochu made with shiso.

I would highly recommend this bar for anyone interested in trying Japanese whisky or shochu!

A tremendous bar! It is a local bar owned and solely operated by Mr. Takumi Hashimoto. It is a small and intimate bar, which is great because Takumi-san has good English and is very personable. He is an extremely skilled bartender and many of the drinks, crafted by him, are very tasty. I personally recommend the Sakura Plum drink and his own riff on the Old Fashioned, which includes Matcha liquor. It's simply the best Old Fashioned I have ever tasted. This is a truly special place that exudes everything that is special and magical about Japan generally, and Kyoto specifically. There is a slightly nautical theme to the bar, without about 6 bar stools, and a comfy nook that can comfortably seat 4.
