Kiraku Kyoto Gion (Nazuna Gion-tei) — Hotel in Kyoto

A wonderful experience. Location is top notch to a traditional street. One room has a comfy queen size traditional mattress, the other has 2 Japanese style mattresses. The comforters are the best. Full kitchen, one commode upstairs, one outside as is the shower and tub. The soaking tub is a too small (I'm 6' 2") to fit my legs but I dig it. My boy friend doesn't like the lack of a washer/dryer or more than one mirror. I especially like the inclusion of the record player; jazz is rampant in this town. This rental was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We wanted something in the Gion area that seemed a little more historic/authentic than most hotels but still with modern amenities. There are so many things to see and do within walking distance! The house is lovely and the open air soaking tub was perfect in the evenings after days...
