LOBUTA Honten — Restaurant in Kyoto

I visited with my Japanese friend for second time, because my first visit was so so great, so I wanted to introduce k bbq to my friend. But sadly, the meat was smelly, and the clerk was rude. Even though we didn’t finish eating (we had more meat on the pan) but, he cleaned the side dishes. He was mumbling, so we understood he would bring new side dishes, but it was just clean up. It looked like we should go out. And It is pricey, two people for 9700??? yen? But we got a receipt with only the total number, not with details. I was very happy to find good Korean food but it is up to your luck that your meat doesn’t smelly and your server is not rude. My first visit was so great, so I was disappointed… so different two...

It’s a fantastic 삼겹살 (Korean-style pork belly barbecue) place in Kyoto. As you know, it’s really hard to find a true Korean restaurant here in Kyoto. However, this recently-opened 삼겹살 place, Lobuta, has captured my heart.😭 It serves exactly the same quality of 삼겹살 you find in Korea (or better ones). If you want to go to Korea, but you don’t have enough money or time, or both, maybe you can come here and experience a bit of Korean...

We were initially told that we would have to wait one hour for a table and there was not much meat left, but I’d really like to praise Jeon Hwang (LJ) for his execeptional customer service and getting us to a table rather swiftly and being overall a great and friendly waiter. His command of english was excellent which really helped my friend and I who are primarily english speakers.
