Kyoto Kaede Hotel Kamogawa — Hotel in Kyoto

This is what happened to me. I booked through booking.com, they confirmed everything and even charged the full price of the reservation 7 days before check-in. On check-in day, they sent me a message saying they had some issue and I would not be able to check in and have to find somewhere else to stay. Imagine me, coming from a foreign country, currently on the shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto at that point, which was 10pm. There was nothing I could do, I tried to tell them they had to honor the booking and let me check in. They still refused. I had to escalate the issue to booking.com, which cancelled my reservation and promised to make the hotel refund me. Guess what, they never did! After that they simply ignored all my messages and never refunded my money, for a stay that never happened, because of their own dishonesty and irresponsibility. My vacation was ruined from the stress of finding a new place to stay at midnight, and so was my subsequent month trying to chase this refund. These people should go to jail.||P/S: don’t even try removing my review. I have it as a note, I will repost until I die. Because people like you should never be able to scam people again....

The location is good. The room is clean. Each room has a kitchen, a small fridge, a bath unit, a table, and some futons on tatami floor. The service is not that bad. I might wanna say this is not a hotel but an apartment hotel. It is not popular in this country to charge to room. But they do, for up to three stayers in a room. Very good for families and groups. There are two supermarkets within ten minutes walk. There also two restaurants around this area which offer breakfasts in early mornings. One is McDonald’s which opens at 6am. Another is a Japanese style restaurant to which it would take fifteen...

We made 2 night reservation on vacation via airbnb, but they suddenly canceled our reservation the afternoon of one day before our trip because the facility were suddenly out of use. They just apologize manually, and I could not feel any sincerity at all. And it was an unilateral cancellation without waiting for my reply. I was looking for another hotel, but It costed more than 3000 dollars because of the vacation season and popular area. I wish it would be helpful for those who are...
