I didn’t have this place on my itinerary; it honestly wasn’t on my radar at all. The only reason I walked into this yakiniku restaurant was because it’s literally across the street from Nintendo HQ and I was hungry after a long walk.
I can’t tell you how surprised I was to find one of my favorite meals of my vacation here. I had wagyu yakiniku a few times while on vacation and this place was the one that hit that perfect sweet spot between quality and price. Our group ended up spending about $20 a person and filled up nicely on non-A5 wagyu that was super tender and flavorful. They also have some lip-smacking sauces even though the meat really doesn’t need them.

The restaurant is in a very local area, not touristy at all and it will take you a bit of time to get over here if you are in the Kyoto city center but it was well worth the trek. The staff was very kind even though we do not speak Japanese. Getting to cook the meat yourself was a cool experience and the sauces were delicious.
