Nidaime Men-ya Akutagawa — Restaurant in Kyoto

Sweet spot my girlfriend recommended me outside her university, and glad I came here to try out their special ramen (medium size) and I can just say that what they serve is the direct proportion of quantity to quality, the head chef is a very hard working and chill dude who you can tell by the way he works has a ton of experience.

Definitely will come back again next time!

Also side tip: if you look for restaurants outside universities or schools, you will find inexpensive and good quality food as they want to make it affordable for...

Previous review: Staff was super friendly and wasted no time welcoming myself and my children. They had an English menu all ready for us without us even asking and they were quick to speak in English with us. A personal favourite of mine, especially after a long day at university. Very flavourful ramen in a typical sit and eat atmosphere. I recommend the roasted pork with egg included. (チャーシュー、味玉子　chyashyuu-men with aji-tamago). The broth is extremely savory so it can be difficult to get through your bowl if you are used to thinner broths. If this is the case, I recommend asking for thinner soup. (You can say something to the extent of "usui soup onegaishimasu"...
