By far one of my favorite shrines to visit in Kyoto! I got a private blessing done and had the opportunity to enter the main worship hall, it was very spiritual and I am grateful I did it. I also attended their annual Summer Purification Festival, as well as their flea markets on the 25th of every month. Not only this but they have a neat museum where various artifacts from the shrine's history are displayed. I got lucky this most recent time and was able to see the Kitano Tenjin Engi Emaki, illustrated scrolls of the history of the shrine. Plus they usually have katana on display there. Also their gardens are stunning, I went for the Ao-momiji ("Blue" Maple) in the summer. Hoping to go again and be able to experience new years and the Plum Festival in February!

The office for picking up Omamori, Goshuin and Ofuda can get quite crowded on the weekends or during the 25th, so you'll probably have to wait a few minutes before being able to get things!
