Nigiri Chojiro - Kitayama Shichiku — Restaurant in Kyoto

We tried today to go to this restaurant We wrote our name on the list ... like in a lot of restaurant here We sat and wait More people came They wrote their name on the list As we were waiting we felt the waitresses embarrassed At this moment, we were not disappointed because in Japan everything go well with a smile and some words Time past They didn't came to us They asked to people after us in the queue These people didn't want because of us and They didn't understood why they should overpass us We said "no problem" ... we had time But ... after a moment ... it became embarrassing for us to be left So we quit ... without eating sushis

Staff doesn't speak English, but you can order on a tablet in multiple languages. Fish are fresh (cooks take living fish from aquarium inside the restaurant) and delicious. Simple 2 nigiri plate comes very fast, for sets you have to wait, but not very long. It's a popular place among locals so there's a chance you'll have to wait for a free table. We loved lunch at Nigiri Chojiro. This restaurant is off the beaten tourist path being 23 min walk from Kimkaku-ji castle or a bus ride from elsewhere but it was totally worth it for us.
