Cozyhouse — Local services in Kyoto

I really enjoyed my stay here. This area of Kyoto is a bit off the beaten path, so it may not be perfect for a short term visitor from another country. But I live in Japan and visit Kyoto a lot. Nishijin and Kitayama - where Cozyhouse is - feel like “real” Kyoto, not just touristy stuff.

The room is essentially what Japanese people call a “1K” (one room plus small kitchen and bathroom) and comes equipped with just about everything you need. Well, not a clothes dryer. Most people here hang dry their clothes. If you need that, there is a 24 hour laundromat less than 5 minutes away.

The owner did me the favor of picking me up from and dropping me off at the nearest subway station. A big benefit, since Cozyhouse can be a bit tough to find the first time. My room also came with an electric battery assisted bicycle. This is WONDERFUL for getting around Kyoto and seeing those out of the way places!

Such a cute place! The owner was so kind, he held our luggage on the last day and extended our bike rentals until the afternoon even after we checked out. He walked us through all the amenities in the unit and was always prompt to reply. Highly recommend this place if you're staying in Kyoto!
