Quê (クエ) — Restaurant in Kyoto

The most incredible thing about this restaurant was they messed up every aspect of the eating out experience that they could.

Right off the bat, we see that the waiter couldn't speak much Japanese. He somehow takes our order, but doesn't tell us until about twenty minutes later that they have run out of bread for the banh mi. I order a pho instead. Then at the thirty minute mark, they bring a dish that we hadn't even ordered. After taking our orders afresh, they take some time to finally bring us the food. Oh finally it is time to dig in... to raw chicken??? I complained about it and they just made a sorry face. Leaving that nugget we finished up the food, and go for the payment (and freedom).

But wait, there's more! After paying I noticed the bill was exceptionally high for just two dishes. Turns out they had billed us for the imaginary banh mi. After rectifying that we finally made the correct payment.

I asked for making some discount because of their exhausting experience. I think I let them off too easy with just a 10% off.

Never...

I came here a few weeks ago when it was still humid and when I sat down the lady that works (runs?) the place made sure I was comfortable and pointed a fan at me. Given, I was the only person there, they really took care of me. My food arrived timely and fresh and hot. I had a pho and the spring rolls. They were so delicious. 2月に新しくオープンしたばかりの本場のベトナム料理のお店で、近鉄伏見駅から徒歩1分ほど。専用の駐車場は多分無さそう。

2階も同じ店舗で、3階はカラオケ、4階は事務所（？）になっているよう。

店内は綺麗で、内装もかわいかったです。

対応してくれた店員さんはベトナムの方で、お客さんも若いベトナムの方2組、後から入ってきたお客さんもベトナムの方でした。

とはいえ、メニューには日本語が併記されているので日本人でも大きな問題はありませんし、店員さんにもそこそこ日本語が伝わるので、安心です。

1階にはカウンター4席と4人掛けのテーブル3つがあったので、1人でも気軽に利用できるように思います。

ランチメニューなどはまだ無さそうですが、メニューはとても豊富で、併記された日本語は不思議な表現が並んでいるので想像しながら楽しめます。

（ベトナムココナッツジュウス　45 こちらは多分450円の間違いのような気がするので、価格の表記だけは直したほうがいいかも。）

お食事は、見た目も悪くなく、全て美味しかったです。

決済はまだ現金のみです。

帰りしは「おおきに。」と声をかけながら、外まで出てきてくれました。
