It would have been a great experience, but we genuinely feel like there was foreigner discrimination here. Every part of the omakase was delicious, but there were clear discrepancies in what was served to us (the only non-Japanese diners in the restaurant) in comparison to other customers.
We were given no menu to start with, which was okay, but other customers were given a menu. There were dishes (such as fish, shrimp, Wagyu) that were served to other customers that were not given to us.
I do want to give the kind waitresses and cooks here the benefit of the doubt, but I donโt believe there was an effort made to communicate any differences in the menu.
Furthermore, the price of the dinner that was communicated to us beforehand did not match the bill that we received. The discrepancy was close to 10,000 yen.
The experience, as a whole, was a bit uncomfortable watching other diners receive clearly better treatment than us. I would recommend other foreigners to avoid the restaurant or come with at least one person in the party who...

The large one included about 12 dishes in 2h with finest Japanese delicacies. Including fugu fish. Very unusual, and nice of them taht they did let our 3y and 5y in and made them some tempura and rice. Especially in Kyoto that is exceptional as most high end restaurants reluctantly takes any foreigners not saying anyone below 10y. Hard to find as it is in a back alley with no other label...
