Terrace Restaurant Feerie — Restaurant in Kyoto

We visited this restaurant for a family event with five adults and two toddlers. A reservation was made a couple of days ahead of time, a reservation specifically requesting two high chairs. When we arrived there was only one high chair and the lady helping us tried to argue with me that my youngest (1+yo) is too young for a high chair (we brought our own waist belt strap so it was fine), despite the fact that she couldn't possibly have known the ages of the children (just that they're not in elementary school yet) before we arrived. I don't mind that there was only one chair (everyone makes mistakes, I've worked in service before) but I don't think it's very professional to cover for staff mistakes by arguing with a customer. She should've just apologized and brought out another.

We ordered the "order-made" course which afforded us a choice between five main entrees and access to the buffet for appetizers/soup/salad/bread/dessert. The main entrees were not particularly excellent (though certainly not bad) but the fact that they were tiny and took forever to come out is quite memorable. I realize they're handling a relatively large number of orders at once but by the time we got the main dish we could've filled up on the buffet. The extra cost of the order-made entrees didn't seem worth it--if we were to visit again we'd probably just do the buffet.

The buffet food, however, was quite good--everything I tried was fresh and tasty. The dessert buffet too was fun--so many choices! And every dessert I tried...
