THREE FISH COFFEE — Restaurant in Matsuyama

Previously I would’ve given this place 5 stars, but they recently rebranded and I don’t think the rebrand is a good one. The new aesthetic of the place feel a lot less elegant and relaxed. The inside looks a lot cheaper, with tackier colors, random Americacore designs, and really loud American pop playing.

They also seem to focus on crepes now instead of real food, which is disappointing, because I feel like I can get crepes in so many places in Japan, but I really loved Three Fish Coffee before for its focus on solid entrees and real substantial food. They also got rid of the nice menu they had with photos attached, and replaced it with a cheap looking signboard with no photos. I’m not sure why this place rebranded — it was perfect the way it was before!

Excellent choices in coffee. I love that they have 6 options of single origin coffee, with either drip or french press as brewing methods. The food was also excellent. For 800 yen we got the egg sandwich drink set which came with yogurt, a drink and a salad. The sandwich was more like an omelet with katsu sauce on white bread. The omelet had the texture of a cloud and was seasoned well. If I lived in Matsuyama I would come here on a regular basis for the different...
