Staying in Mishima for the first time, I stayed at Hotel Gee Haive and looked around for a nearby dinner option. Just at the corner, I came across Jeet Indian Restaurant. Unsure about the menu, I asked if they served halal food, and the server confirmed, so I decided to give it a try.
I ordered the Dinner Set C, which came with two curries, tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, salad, dessert, a soft drink, and naan or rice. The portion size was fair for the price, and presentation was typical of small Indian/Nepali budget restaurants. Inside, the atmosphere was simple, with some Indian music playing faintly in the background. At that point, my expectations were moderate, and I was fine with that.
However, what really spoiled the evening was the staff’s attitude. Another table of Japanese customers nearby was having a little trouble communicating their order. The server—who seemed to also be the manager—went back to the kitchen and started swearing (literally swear words) and complaining about them to the chef. Poor innocent customers don't know whats happening on their back. Unfortunately, I understood their language, and listening to the insults while still sitting there as a customer was deeply uncomfortable. It instantly turned the atmosphere from average to unpleasant.
When the food arrived, it was edible but uninspiring. The curries were generic, the kebab lacked freshness, and overall the flavors were nothing memorable. Combined with the poor service attitude, it was hard to enjoy the meal at all.
Bottom line: Even if the food had been decent, the lack of respect and professionalism made the experience unacceptable. Restaurants are as much about hospitality as they are about taste, and here, both fell short. With average flavors and an unwelcoming attitude, I have no intention of returning and would not recommend this place unless serious...
Read moreI've been here a few time in the past and didn't remember the taste or quality of the food. All I could remember is sitting on a crushed velvet bar chair at the counter. The place was dark and it looked like some out of the 80s.
So, I was hungry for Indian curry today and thought I would give this place a try. The inside looked a lot bright before and they changed the bar seats. So that's one point for this place.
As for the food, I'm going to be brutally honest. The curry was super water. The taste was ok. The Nan was ok. It wasn't super thick and doughie as other place and it was a little crispy. It just lacked a nice yeasty smell.
Sitting at the bar was a bit uncomfortable, because of the lack of space. I was eating elbow to elbow. And it was difficult to stand up and leave without bumping the person next to you.
In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this...
