Maybe it's because I haven't eaten many katsudons in Japan yet, but I think this katsu is the best there is at this price point! The meat is tender and easy to bite, flavourful and delicious. The batter is crispy and nice too, and the oil used to fry the katsu is fresh. The rice is surprisingly soft and perfectly complements the crunchiness of the katsu batter. I'd recommend you get it without any miso sauce though. The miso sauce didn't seem to add much depth to the dish, and too much of it soaked into the rice directly.

The・水戸の殿様気質を全身に感じられる素敵なカツ丼屋さんです。 夜21時に閉店、20:30にラストオーダですが、閉店1時間前の20時頃に入店すると割とふくよかな女性が開口一番に「この時間からだとゆっくり食べられませんが大丈夫ですかっ!!?」と圧強めに聞いてきます(笑) 圧に負けずに「それでも結構です」と返すと、何かあてつけのようにテーブル席を片付け始めたり、居心地が悪い気分にさせてくれます🥵...
