Please do NOT go here. I have never given a bad review on any restaurant. Even if I had some issues, I believe that very often some things are beyond their control. But this I have to post to warn others. The sushi chef was extremely rude! To start with, they have handwritten signs all over the place stating that you must order everything at once since it was too tedious for them to keep adding to the bill or something to that effect. But what if I needed another drink or another dish? Does it mean I can't order again? They spoke no English at all so we used Google Translate to communicate with them which seemed to irritate the chef even more. They served the food promptly enough. The food was tasty as well. However, while waiting, a cockroach ran across our table. I didn't scream. I didn't even complain. My husband just quickly squashed it. No fuzz. We distinctly noticed that the chef seemed to be unhappy that we were in his restaurant. We heard him and the lady server banging utensils and plates as they went about preparing our orders. We were the only customers at that time so their animosity was definitely targeted at us. After the meal, when we asked for the bill, the chef tapped on his calculator and showed us a figure. We politely asked the lady server who seemed to be his wife to please show us the breakdown of the bill. She immediately became upset and she replied through Google Translate that they computed the bill properly and that they were not cheating us. She was mumbling something in English about consumption tax which explains why our bill was higher than what we expected. But we were taken aback at such a violent reaction when all we wanted was to understand how our bill was computed. And that she said she was not cheating us when we did not insinuate it at all. Earlier in the evening, I tried to appease the chef's bad mood by typing in Google Translate that his food was good. He simply replied with a tepid smile. When the lady server seemed to be getting aggressive and was saying something in Japanese that she wasn't wrong in the computation of the bill, we gestured to her to just forget it and we paid the bill in cash. We left the place and politely said to them "arigatogozaimasu" and bowed our heads as we were going out the door. What shocked us most was how the chef chased after us and slammed the door of the restaurant behind us! Oh my! I have never encountered anyone so angry in my life. We went back to the hotel hurriedly. I couldn't stop myself from crying from sheer trauma and disbelief. Please, please avoid this restaurant. P.S. I have read the other reviews and it seems like other customers have experienced the same thing. I think its the language barrier that irks the chef and he obviously has some anger issues. I pray for these couple that they might find joy and humility in serving others. They should put up a sign at the door: we only serve customers who can read and...
Read moreIf there's a 0 or (-) star that's how i would rate this shop. Rude, rude, RUDE from the beginning until we left. We should've read the reviews first before going but it was the closest restaurant to our hotel. The staff (owners?) were not smiling as we entered and you suddenly feel unwelcomed. We tried to be nice and used google translate in conversing but the staff were just grumpy and cold. Atleast she gave us an english menu. While on the table, there were small cockcroackes crawling around which i squished without making a big fuss. To our surprise, the sashimi we ordered were served without plates directly on the table where the cockcroach was crawling!!! We shouldve noticed the unwelcoming signs on the walls - "order all at once" in English. What does this mean? You cannot order anymore after you have placed your initial order? Why place such a sign- and in English. You pay cash only and no receipt! As we got out, the male staff followed us and slammed the door behind us!!! Stay away from this...
