Magurozanmai — Restaurant in Nachikatsuura

We came on a Sunday night, the whole of Kiikatsuura was very busy a lot of restaurants had to turn us away without a booking. So we ended up here out of desperation but the food here sure isn’t desperate at all. They sat us down, at a table and the menu was simple and highlights the local delicacy such as the Kumano beef and Maguro. We ordered both and threw in some salad and everything was so well done, we felt grateful to have tried such local delicacy. This was probably one of my favourite meals I've eaten in Japan. We've been to Japan a few times, and found this place by accident while waiting for our train after visiting Nachisan. 那智勝浦町内では熊野那智大社、那智山青岸渡寺や那智の滝、補陀洛山寺や熊野古道などが世界遺産として登録されています。

そして “ まぐろ ” が有名な場所。 くじら、イルカ料理もこちらの地方では食べられています。くじら、イルカは少々抵抗があり、やっぱりせっかく訪れた街なので、勝浦温泉を頂き、マグロを食べて帰る事にしました。

勝浦温泉のバスターミナル、勝浦港の目の前にある「まぐろ三昧那智」さん。

バスターミナルにある有料駐車場に車を駐めてお店へ向かいます。

静かな港町のお店。 人影もまばらです。 明るい店内へ入ると、先客様もおみえになります。

席へご案内頂き、メニューを隅から隅まで拝見。 やはりマグロ三昧メニューが並んでいます。

紀州名物のサンマ寿司、くじらなども並びます。 珍しい単品では、ウツボ、サメ、カメノテなども…。 なぜかパスタやオムライスまで…。
