Imagine how delighted I was to find vegan ramen in this small seaside town without many tourists. We tried the Gekikara (spicy ramen) and the Gomoku Ramen and were so happy we came back the next day for lunch. We asked if there was any vegan dessert and the owners said no but felt badly and brought us some mandarin oranges on the house at the end of the meal. Though they didn’t speak English, they were so warm and kind and they have labeled some vegan options on their vegan menu. We also had vegan tempura eggplant the second day (along with two ramens) for a total of 2400 yen, which was among the cheapest meals we had in Japan for so much food! They are very nice and kind about it and also will tell you if you try to order something that may have other animal ingredients ( almond tofu has milk, steamed seasame bun had lard). I ordered a vegan spicy ramen and was also able to add tofu for from some protein! The staff is super friendly and overall, a wonderful dinner or lunch spot if you are in the area as they aren't many vegans options!
