Good food but the owner was not very welcoming to foreigners. He first asked us if we knew what an izakaya is and when we said yes, he proceeded to say that this is a Japanese restaurant and that they don’t have English menus. We probably should’ve just left but we were very hungry and everywhere else was booked (this was the 4th place we went to) so we told him it was ok and we can use Google translate. We got seated and started looking through their menus, there were about 10 pages so we were going through and translating them one by one. We were visibly struggling but he kept pressuring us to order quickly and looked annoyed when we asked for more time. The younger waiter however, was very kind and knew a bit of english so he came over and airdropped an english menu with recommendations that he created. We ordered a few dishes based on his recommendations and ate very quickly and left. The food was very good and surprisingly affordable. We spent around 4000 yen for 2 people and it included a sashimi plate, mushroom soup, kaarage chicken, grilled fish, tofu appetizer and 2 drinks. I would not come back or recommend this place to foreigners who cannot read or speak Japanese. This was my first unpleasant meal...
