Ringer Hut — Restaurant in Nagasaki

I was on the hunt for traditional Nagasaki food and I saw Chanpon is the ‘soul food’ or dish of Nagasaki. I wasn’t sure where to go based on google reviews but I asked the bartender at a nice little wine bar lounge I was and he directed me here. Very no frills kind of like a chain but good prices, local people here enjoying a simple pleasure.

The food was great, and the staff were nice. I honestly would have that Chanpon once a week. I got it spicy which was nice. It’s a good kind of ramen meets other Asian soups…more vegetable focused too. I’m a big fan. The gyozas on the side were nice too. I think the soup plus 3 gyoza was 950 yen or so.

First day in Nagasaki and I was walking around in the China town looking for Chanpon (said to come from “eating rice” in Fugan dialect. ) Remember in the chat room someone recommended Ringer Hut so came in to get my dinner. Order set of regular Chanpon and 5 gyoza. The noodle is full of vegetables and not salty. Place is clean and the service people are polite. We were keen to try the local champon noodles dish and gave this place a try. It's just a chain / standard type of place, not much atmosphere, but the food was great! We had the spicy champon and gyoza and it was great, very filling! The service was amazing as well, our waiter was very helpful and fortunately for us he had great english.
