I could have stayed the night at a Toyoko Inn for only 6000 yen butcuriosity got the better of me so I chose this hostel to see how it was. I booked last minute so it was 4900 yen for one night.||||First of all, I am glad I travelled with a backpack only, because if you arrive by train and you have a huge luggage you are going to have a lot of difficulty carrying it across the footbridge (the only way to get across to the other side of the road). There is an elevator on one side but its a detour to get to it.||||After the footbridge, you need to walk up a very steep slope to get to the hostel. I wonder how those with heavy luggage can manage it.||||On their website it says it is a 3 minute walk, but it is false. It takes at least 10 minutes.||||After arriving in the hostel there are of course more steps to climb before you arrive in your little cabin room which hardly can fit in a heavy luggage.||||Also the hostel has a dodgy nightclub establishment next door. This is Japan so it is nothing to be afraid of but still I'd like to mention it cos some people might be concerned.||||||All negatives aside, this hostel is newly refurbished, including everything you need, kettle, little kitchen, microwave, etc.||||Clean bathrooms and beds.||||There is a cafe downstairs where you can have a western breakfast for an extra 800 yen (kinda crazy!!)||||But 4900 yen a night is really too much. This is Nagasaki, not Osaka or Tokyo.||||Only consider staying here if other places are...

Read moreI stayed at Traveller's House of the Route one day while visiting Nagasaki. I initially thought it was a little pricey but I arrived to see that we had a little apartment. It was studio type but with panels separating the two bedrooms (or sleeping area), a kitchenette, a big dining table and sofa. The shower and washing machine were inside and the toilet outside. It was not the prettiest style, but certainly comfortable.||Check in was quick and service was great. They offered a really nice breakfast but we were leaving early in the morning and we couldn’t enjoy it. To check out, we just locked and left the key in a reception box. ||The rooms partitions give you some privacy despite the fact it is a studio flat and if we had spent more time it would have been perfect.||It is located less than 10 minutes from the station for bear in mind it is up on a hill and there is a steep stairs to get to the room in case you are travelling with heavy bags or elderly people.||Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I would certainly recommend it for a family or group...
