Yellow Noritakeshinmachi — Restaurant in Nagoya

my family and i ordered takeout today (2 double cheese hamburg omurices) because we had an appointment in the area and saw amazing reviews. the staff were pleasant and hardworking even though the restaurant was busy. we speak little to no japanese and the staff at the counter accommodated us by speaking simple english.

we were told that our food would take about 20 minutes to arrive, which seemed reasonable, since we had to rush off quickly with no time for anything else. however, it actually took close to an hour and we had to ask for an update, after which we were asked to wait 5 more minutes. i understand that the staff could not have predicted the urgency of our appointment or changed how busy the restaurant was, but i wish it was communicated to us just how much longer we would have to wait, especially since we were seated outside the whole time. if we had been given a more accurate estimate or been updated, it would have been more possible for us to adjust how to respond. i don’t mean to say that the service was bad, because the staff were very sweet, but we felt somewhat disappointed having to wait so long without being told.

I ordered the double cheese hamburg and it was really really good! The hamburg was really juicy and very cheesy. They even cut the omurice infront of us and even poured the glaze and cheese sauce. Their pancakes were really good too. It looked sweet but it wasn’t too sweet which was perfect 🙌 better than the other fluffy pancakes I’ve tried here in japan.

I ordered the berry pancakes, beef garlic rice, and chicken, and everything was delicious. The pancakes were soft and delightful—highly recommend them!
