Chinuman Makishiten — Restaurant in Naha

We didn't do any research in advance before wandering into this restaurant, but it peeked our interest because of the fish tank with fresh fish and shell fish that was on display. We were very pleasantly surprised by both the excellent quality of the food (the fish was incredibly fresh), quick service, and great lively atmosphere (with live traditional music). A lovely izakaya at the main street, and they have live performance in the evening. Do note that they have a cover charge and staff might not speak much English.

The menu featured a selection of local cuisine and drinks. Most of the dishes we tried were good, and I will recommend the peanut tofu and sea grapes (and the usual Okinawa specialties). Overall, the price is reasonable and we had a fun night before...

Fantastic place to have Okinawa cuisine. The place is full of positive energy from the staff to the stage performances of Okinawa songs that makes the experience very unforgetful.
