During a recent trip to Okinawa with my wife, we decided to seek out a unique dining experience and stumbled upon a restaurant that caught our eye with its intriguing exterior.
Upon entering, we were enthusiastic about trying what they claimed to be wagyu beef. However, I must express my disappointment, as the quality was nowhere near the exceptional standard I experienced in Tokyo. The flavor and texture simply did not compare, leaving us wishing we had opted for something else.
To add to our frustration, there was a hidden cover charge of 330 yen per person that we were not informed about prior to our meal. This unexpected fee felt misleading, as it was not mentioned anywhere in the restaurant or by the staff.
In addition, we ordered lettuce to complement our supposed wagyu beef, but to our surprise, this item was not listed on the menu and came with a staggering price tag of 750 yen. The inflated cost was baffling, especially considering that a plate of gyoza, which requires more preparation, was only 490 yen. It felt as though the restaurant had a tendency to exploit unsuspecting tourists.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant was less than pleasant due to poor ventilation; it felt as if we were trapped in a barbecue pit, surrounded by smoke and heat. To make matters worse, the owner exhibited a hostile demeanor, glaring at us with apparent disdain, perhaps because we were tourists. This unwelcoming attitude only added to our discomfort.
In summary, I strongly advise others to avoid this establishment if you seek fair treatment and a quality dining experience. Our visit left us feeling taken advantage of, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to have a...
Read moreA mixed experience. It's a cool place: open kitchen, nice staff, and the noodles were tasty. It's also open late. Cool looking restaurant, although I'm not a fan of the loud western dance/hip-hop music (personal preference). More importantly, it's overpriced: a bowl of ramen (large size, but not really large) with just oxtail broth, noodles, and raw leek and cabbage shavings on top (no other toppings), with a small beer, was 1800 yen. To which more than 500 yen were surprisingly added at the end, for taxes and service. I ate at the counter and stayed 15min, so that's a bit...
Read moreIncredible food! I walked in with my wife and 8 children and they had a table set up in 1 minute. Food was easy to order in English using my phone and a QR. It all came out as fast as we could expect. The staff was helpful when we tried cooking a dish meant to be eaten raw, and they were very professional and courteous. It was an incredible dinner and I really hope we can go again while...
