TACHINOMIYA BAR Kokusai st. — Restaurant in Naha

I travel to Japan a lot and this is one of the friendliest and most fun bars I’ve ever been to. The staff here were immediately very friendly and welcoming. It was so fun in fact, that I went two nights in a row. I’ll probably go again before I leave Okinawa.

The atmosphere is especially good. There are interesting people that drop in continually, and it’s fun to meet the folks here. I like that they have a grill going the entire time. It feels like you’re at a cookout. The food here smells especially good.

All in all, the staff get an A+ for friendliness. They’re what really make the experience great. Aside from that, the enjoyable atmosphere and being able to gawk at people constantly passing on the busy street is really fun. I want to come back to Naha just to visit...

I went here twice. Once during the daytime and once while I was exhausted on the last night of my trip. Both times were pretty great, as I was able to practice speaking Japanese with the staff. I had some good laughs on both occasions. The second time I went, I was so tired that I could barely even think about how to speak Japanese, didn't know how to ask to for the check, and forgot how to count yen.
