We were looking for a place to eat dinner on a quiet Sunday evening, when most restaurants seemed to be closed. We stumbled across this little place while wandering the gorgeous little streets of Naoshima. We weren't sure exactly what this place was when we first saw it, but we noticed it by its modest lights and signs out the front. We popped in and the kind gentleman at the bar confirmed they serve not only drinks (a wide range of cocktails, etc.) but food too. You can either sit at the bar or in a small separate room with a table - we chose the latter. It was very cosy. It was a smallish food menu but it didn't need to be big, as I'd strongly recommend the shrimp lasagna - delicious! It's a different kind of lasagna to what I am used to - it had some delicious crumbs on the top layer. The gentleman was very friendly and made us feel welcome - and patiently waited for me to attempt to use my very rusty Japanese. If you don't speak any Japanese, I don't think it is a problem because there were English words on the menu that you can point...

We had a coffee Negroni made through an air press with beans roasted on site. They had some fantastic Japanese whiskeys, gins and liquors — the Scarlet Japanese Campari was 👌🏻
The guys tending bar didn’t speak tons of English but we had a very amicable evening there and came back again during our time in Naoshima! This is the one bar that is open late in town and we couldn’t have asked for...

Ask the owner for the bottle you wish to try! They are not all on the menu. We had the Q-tonic, a coffee liquor drink that's off menu and the seasonal melon fruit cocktail. All 3 taste amazing! Would definitely recommend if you are staying overnight...
