Overall: would not recommend this restaurant due to pricing, misleading information based on the official website, and lack of available options.
We came on a Sunday evening for a meal and on the website, there are multiple options of antipastos, salads and pizzas. There were prices for each item individually.
But when we entered the restaurant there was a mandatory ¥3300 dinner course that included 3 appetizers and a choice of a pizza, pasta, or spare ribs. When asked if we can do individual items, the waitress said it would not be possible.
At the time, the lotus root pizza and pasta option was also unavailable. This meant only spare ribs or pizza for the main item.
The only two base options for the course for the pizza (a basil and parmesan pizza or marinara sauce pizza).
All other choices for pizza would cost an additional ¥300 or more.
This dinner set does not include a drink BUT drinks are mandatory per customer.
If we had chosen the cheapest options on the menu, the grand total would be ¥3500. ¥300 for mineral water, ¥1200 yen for the base pizza, and ¥700 for each of the three appetizers— which were quite small from what the waitress showed us.
¥2100 each person for the appetizers is unimaginable. We went to the restaurant for pizza, not appetizers.
To request a mandatory drink on top of the mandatory course along with the additional price increase for any other pizza besides the marinara pizza or basil and parmesan seemed inappropriate.

Read moreGood pizza. Nice decor. Friendly service. I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the set pricing. I get that. We didn’t really want a starter but did want dessert. And we’re not used to having to buy a drink. But my take is that clearly the economics were not working for them without that limitation. These are small places. So clearly they felt they had to do something or go out of business. Maybe a minimum spend would work better. People would moan about that too but for me that would be fair and workable for them, but give customers more flexibility about how they spent the money. I’m just glad they were here, on an island where aren’t that many options. Thanks you Luke...
Read moreWe arrived on a rainy night after biking all day through Naoshima. The atmosphere was very nice, with cool music and a warm chimney. We ordered some beers and a pizza half with lotus and pesto, and the other half with miso eggplant. It blew our minds! Each combination was so unique and flavorful. We couldn't resist and had to order a second pizza, half with lotus pesto again and the other half with classic Margherita. I will never forget those pizzas. If I ever visit Naoshima again, I will come back for more...
