maimai（元祖 直島バーガー） — Restaurant in Naoshima

The one man at the cashier&cook did not have a good attitude. He doesn't seem too happy with customers visiting the shop. At 2pm, it seems to be the few restaurants opened around the area. A Avocado, cheese fish burger set (hashbrown +drink) cost 1500+ (slightly expensive)... the fish burger was small and taste normal. The atmosphere was nice in the shaded area, however tables and chairs are slightly uncomfortable. It does not have a toilet so you can't wash your hands while eating burger with your hands. There are no utensils for the burger. You cannot put your bags down without ordering the food first. It leaves a bad memory, I will not...

Pretty average. Nothing wrong with that. I got a different bun than the other pictures show. I do think the other buns looks better 😂 The fish was good. Nicely good. Yellow skipjack. The cheese was a slice of single pack cheddar. I highly recommend that they upgrade it to something better. When you got a bite with all the components it was a tasty burger. We came last minute which might be why we got a little 'cant be bothered service'. The price is pretty cheap.

Very good food and a nice place to rest as well. It's quiet but there still is some passage since Naoshima is very touristic. Overall, the burgers are great as well as the hash brown served with it if you get a "mai mai set" (burger + drink + hashbrown, between 1200 and 1900¥). It's not cheap but not expensive either,...
