tl;dnr: cool & creepy decor which would be adored by Tim Burton fans, good food at the right price, service to die for.
Darted in with the extra 20 minutes I had to catch the ferry (a big risk). The place is wonderfully creepy and strongly influenced by Nightmare Before Christmas in a earnestly kitschy way. Quotes on the walls, Halloween decorations abound, and fun old-style signs.
I sat down and ordered the curried loin pilaf (¥900) and a marshmallow chocolate coffee (¥600). By the time I was done eating the delicious katsu with curried rice, I had maybe 7 minutes before I needed to leave to catch my ferry which was 5 minutes away. Gearing up for the most stressful 5 minute run I'd have all week, I settled my bill and asked for my coffee to go. With 5 minutes left, one of the women working there asked which ferry I was trying to catch. "Takamatsu? No time!" She immediately refunded my coffee and I bolted out the door. A honk, it was my server in a small red car. After a brief moment of shock, I understood her gestures and got in. She drove me to the port so I wouldn't...

The coffee is not quite specialty coffee, and non-dairy milk is not available, but it’s still okay, and they also offer tea and juice.
We were a group of 3, and always found a table available in the morning, around 9 AM. We tried the sets of toast with pizza topping, toast with egg salad topping, and the yogurt bowl. All great, so we ended up coming for two days in a row.
I'd...
Read moreQuirky coffee house with reasonably priced breakfast sets, very good service and decent coffee (hubby had take away the day before and was happy to come back again).
The fruit granola at 600yen was beautifully presented although the fruit was frozen so it was a bit cold for my daughter. The picture is of B set toast. The egg was done Asian style (maybe in a pressure cooker so a little rubbery). We also got the set with the salad a soup - soup was delicious (creamy chowder)!
There's a Halloween feel to the decor with dittys on the walls to keep you entertained while enjoying your coffee.
It was a relaxing way to start...
