This place was one of the first restaurants I booked at the beginning of my Japan trip. I was able to get a lunch reservation through Google here the week before arrival. They request you to confirm reservation through email days prior.

Don't arrive too early as they are on a tight reservation. 10mins before is perfect for them.

The atmosphere was nice and quiet for an afternoon lunch and it was very roomy with huge tables. You get privacy from other diners that was much appreciated.

The menu was easy to read and available online. Shows plenty of pictures for the foreigners like me.

We had a very nice female host and chef. There was a language barrier, but she was able to communicate with us. She had better english than I had of any Japanese. She interacted with us through the meal, and we were able to understand each other still. An explanation of each course was given to us well and was excellent. She also gave our party space to interact amongst ourselves.

We opted for the full Kitsune course with 4 appetizers, and each was just as good as the last. The beef sukiyaki was delicious, and a new egg was given each time the next course of beef was cooked. I was very full with the refill of rice if you want to go along with your soft fatty beef and egg! The dessert with the sake in the soft serve ice cream was surprise! It was very very good and I thought about it each time I ordered ice cream somewhere through the rest of my trip.

This was a lunch after a proposal in Nara. She surprised us with a decorated plate to remember on the last course of dessert! You can most likely ask for a surprise plate design for any occasion like they advertise before hand when you arrive. We were very happy with our first wonderful delicious sukiyaki meal and the excellent service provided by our host/chef.

Please give this place a try! You will be happy with any course they offer and plenty full!

Thanks Kitsune for a lunch to remember for our first...

We had great, friendly service and an excellent sukiyaki. The beef offered is Yamato beef and cooked in front of you. The sauce is well balanced and not too sweet. The first round the beef is served with an egg dil, the next a pepper, chili spice is mixed into the egg dip and the last round is a special egg. Makes it more interesting!

By the way they offer a choice of desserts at the end, a sake ice cream in a wafer or a creme caramel. I recommend paying a bit more and getting both! The caramel was really nicely done, with a hint of smoke.

You get your own private area and thankfully there is a server to...

From seating to the end, the waiter and waitress were very welcoming, although their English wasn't the best. They did very well.

My sister and I order the sukiyaki meal. It was amazing. I loved watching and listening to the waitress explain everything.

I recommend this place.

The atmosphere was perfect as well. There were so many rooms, and every one of them was huge. So...
