Great accommodation and affordable pricing- the room we had was a Japanese style room, similar to the traditional ryokan style where we set up our own futons and we had a view of the pagoda. The hotel was also situated strategically in between all the key sites and you can easily walk to them. The highlight of this place though is in its hospitality and service of the team both in the inn and the visitor center itself. We had Takayo Ueda san as our primary host, and she showed us what it means to go above and beyond for your customers. It started off from a crisis we faced where put luggage wheels were ruined and we could no longer lug them on the trip with us. She firstly helped to research on where we could buy suitcases, but when we decided that we would use Yamato transport to take our suitcases to our next destination- she went all the way from filling the forms and coming with us to give instructions for delivery with the convenience store. She then helped us to also call our next hotel just to ensure that they are aware of the arrangements. All these initiatives were done proactively without us even asking her in the first place. We really felt cared for and just her hospitality alone made us feel that we would’ve wanted to stay a couple more days in Nara. Secondly, we had also experienced excellent hospitality with the visitor center itself where we met Ayane san who really guided us on the top local sights to visit and it was after hours. She was extremely helpful and didn’t just give us standard recommendations but catered to what our preferences were! Thank you so much for the wonderful memories you gave us of Nara, we would come back because of what you’ve helped us experience here!

よかった!Great value! The fact that you can stay at a hotel in such a great location with a beautiful view of a pond and historic pagoda for less than 8000 yen/night is pretty amazing. Obviously, you're not going to be staying in a high-end exclusive joint, but if you don't need that, this is a great hotel. It's a 10 minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station and 15 minutes from JR Nara Station. It's right on a pond and there are deer that come right up to the hotel. It's right by the steps that go up to a nice shrine, an old pagoda, and two museums. It's also right by the main shopping arcade. It's basically the perfect location for a vacation in Nara. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable. There is a free sento (public bath) in the basement for guests. There is also a Daily convenience store right in the hotel. The first floor also houses a tourist information centre. There are western and Japanese-style rooms, and both have amazing views. I've stayed in both, and they were both comfortable, with the basics, including shower, toilet, closet, mini fridge, air conditioning (great in summer!), TV, and more. You can also use the kitchens and borrow various kitchen equipment if you want to cook your own food. The only problem, which is the same in just about any hotel, is sometimes the other guests might be a little noisey, but it wasn't too bad. I'm an early-to-bed type, but everyone was quiet by a decent time. There were a bunch of kids talking one evening, and another evening the nextdoor couple were doing something which sounded related to the birds and the bees. C'est la vie.

Amazing place to come and experience an authentic, cute and few hours of Japanese culture in this place and an amazing and worthwhile place to Stay for a few nights as one explores nara. Not super convenient in terms of bus services or being really near the station but with a 10 min walk or short 5 min drive, one can reach here and be welcomed by warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere by the staff here. Many of them can speak either Chinese or English which helps so so much! And yes, it's understandable. Not just the basic basic English kind. Definitely come and check this place out, buy some of their stuff, check out the guided tours they have available and come stay here for a few nights. You can even cook in the kitchen if needed and relax for a while after a day of exploring! Learn to do some calligraphy, have a tea ceremony and wear/ take some pictures in kimonos/yutakas. Service is excellent. Prices are affordable. A few mins walk to a variety of food places and a nearby Starbucks. Plus receive many gifts while here. They do not serve breakfast here however. And if you want something more, check with the front desk! There is also a bath and washing machine available to use here. Pretty awesome really.

We wanted actually just hop in for a moment to have a look around but ended up spending over three hours there! The staff was so kind to us, asking us if we needed assistance or have any questions. The staff speaks English very well. Several activities are offered completely free of charge. We made some very nice deer origami and the staff offered to translate our names to Kanji. The translation was carried out in a calligraphy style and makes for a very nice and unique souvenir. We were fortunate that at the time of our visit (Wednesday) a tea ceremony was offered for a very reasonable price of 2000 yen per person. The tea master was so kind and spoke very good English. Every step was explained and we even could make our own tea afterwards. Overall I would suggest everyone to stop by there and enjoy the very welcoming and nice atmosphere. Staying in Kyōto for our vacation which is crowded with people, we really enjoyed our day trip to Nara. The town is so beautiful and all people are so kind and welcoming. We will definitely consider to stay in Nara instead next time instead of Kyōto and will definitely visit the Nara visitor center again. ありがとうございます!

I came here by chance while looking for a bathroom, and it was such an amazing discovery. Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome from the loveliest staff ever. They recommended me many places to visit/activities to do in the city. I went on with my day, then came back to the center right after because I wanted to do some of the free cultural activities they were organizing. My friend and I had the chance to learn kanji calligraphy and to try on yukatas. We left with many souvenirs: our names written in kanji, a deer origami, and wonderful pictures of us in kimono (taken by the most talentuous manager :)) It was also fun to interact with the staff, who were fluent in English and who clearly hold the city of Nara dearly in their hearts. We had so much fun, and we wish we could have stayed longer! This experience by itself made me want to come back to Nara (and I will if I get the chance to go back to Japan). I definitely recommend this place to everyone visiting Nara (and mostly families with young kids who are looking for fun activities to do!)

Excellent value for money. Rooms are very spacious and will have a semi-ryokan feels especially with the tatami mats. I enjoyed my stay here as it was very well located right in the middle of town with easy access to Nara Park, Naramachi, and restaurants. The rooms are located above Nara Visitor Centre and the staff at the Centre can converse with you in both English and Mandarin which is a life saver for foreigners. You can also take part is activities they organise such tea making ceremony or origami. There is also a convenience store located at the lower ground for your late night snacks or breakfast the next day. My only feedback was on the room layout which was not so practical. For example the toilet and bathroom are at one corner of the room whilst the sink is at the other corner. These are minor inconveniences which can be overlooked in totality.
