📍Best Onigiri Spot in Nara?⬇️ ✨ Share & Save if you love good food! This little shop in Nara’s shopping district is a gem! 🍙 They serve fresh, big, and tasty onigiri with a variety of flavors — and you even get free miso soup. The staff are super friendly and happy to help, even with Google Translate. 💕 🌱 For vegans and gluten-free eaters, this place is a life saver! Clear labeling, lots of vegan options, and gluten-free choices that make eating in Japan so much easier. 🙌 Some favorites people loved: 🍙 Classic onigiri with seaweed wrap 🥗 Vegan-friendly sides 🍲 Miso soup (light and comforting) 🍔 Even a spam/egg “burger” for those who want something different The shop is small (mostly takeaway with a little bar to sit at), but the food quality and kindness of the staff make it unforgettable. Affordable, clean, and authentic — definitely worth a stop while in Nara. 🌸 💭 Would you go for a vegan onigiri or try one of their classic flavors first? A Hidden Gem for Onigiri Lovers - Friendly, Vegan-Friendly, and Delicious! We stumbled upon Onigiri Banshun (おむすび 番旬) by chance, and it turned out to be a fantastic find! If you're an onigiri enthusiast, this place is an absolute must-visit. They offer a wonderful selection, including options that are perfect for vegans. One of the highlights was the tea infusion onigiri, which had a unique and delightful flavor. The owner is incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to explain the ingredients of each onigiri in English, which was so helpful for us as foreigners. We were also treated to a free miso soup that was simply delicious. However, finding the place on Google Maps can be a bit tricky because the name is in Japanese (おむすび 番旬). I recommend searching by the Japanese name or using nearby landmarks to locate it more easily. If you happen to come across this hidden gem, don't hesitate to stop in. The food is fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. Highly recommended!

I ate here on October 4th and am just writing the review now. I was looking for a place with vegetarian options and this was the only nearby one that was clearly marked and was open on a Thursday at noon. I bought four different vegetarian onigiri and ate all of them there, four was very filling and I probably would've been fine with only three. My favorite of the four was the Red Perilla onigiri. I was also served free miso soup and it complimented the onigiri very well. The service was very helpful, the worker who helped me showed me which onigiri were vegetarian and vegan. I believe the miso soup was self service but he got the bowl of miso soup for me which was appreciated. I also put my rice onto the seaweed incorrectly when trying to wrap it and the worker came out to help me do it correctly.
