Delicious vegetables and rice! We went here for lunch and it was great! Everything looked great in their dishes and tasted so good! The agedashi tofu was delightful but for me the stars were the vegetables. Cooked to perfection and so so good. The staff were helpful and gave us english menus and were patient with us. The price is very reasonable for what you get I think. Definitely value for money.

This is the only option for vegans and vegetarians without fish stock (the vegetables contain it).. you can have your noodles only with soy sauce instead of the regular noodles soup. Or you can bring your own vegan sauce (there is a brand called ohsawa).. I'll give 4 stars because the old lady was very nice answering my questions, but I think they could have the options with kelp (Kombu dashi)

Menu specialised in two main items - udon and warabi mochi. Udon noodles were thinner, slightly translucent and nicely chewy. Soup was on the sweeter side and went well with the scrambled eggs and gigantic piece of tofu. Mochi was excellent. Overall authentic local food. Staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. Ask for the outside seating if possible!

Unlike places that will beat you over your head for cash, this unpretentious restaurant gives good prices, excellent *traditional* food, and SSS service. You can get pretty much every must-eat-in-Nara food here except 柿の花寿司 (Persimmon leaf sushi.) I would *not* give this place a miss, it is a well priced experience from beginning to end!

One of the best meals I’ve had in Japan! I had Kitsune egg udon noodles with fried tofu. The broth was outstanding. For sure one of the most delicious meals I have had so far in Japan. For dessert I tried the freshly made warm mochi set with black treacle, red bean and sesame coating. Oishi!

Only had 4 types of udon and a interesting mungbean dessert. However the udon was simple but quite good. Soup was very clean but had a deep bonito favour. Noodles were skinner than usual and soft. Restaurant decor was simple and sparse. The views outside made up for it.
