Cosy place with good food and joyful staff. I tried the cheese covered meat pasta to see how they compare to European pasta dishes. I was not disappointed the sauce was packed with flavour and the meat nice and juicy. Only difference is the slight increase in pasta thickness about 10% thicker than what I'm used to but very enjoyable. Definitely would recommend it with the large beer 0.75L 😁 I don't know much Japanese at all but the staff was very kind and patient with me 🙏

Edit: I came back here 2 more times during my trip in Niigata and each time was almost better than the last, getting to know the staff more and more. I got to try their localy sourced pork steak and beef hanging tenderloin which was some of the most tender I have ever tried! It was a great environment and the service is top-notch, welcoming and very friendly. All the service staff are very friendly especially Mao (まお) who has focus on our table. She is a bubbly and helpful person as we do not speak much Japanese and she is very patient to help us with all our orders and requests. The chefs are all very skilled to serve all the dishes to an exceptional awesome level! Food is truly delicious! My top love is the jalapeño sauce that elevate the beef taste! I also love the bread with fermented butter, all the beef and pork steaks, burrata cheese with fruits, lemonade and even the oolong tea is smooth and nice! This was the best restaurant we visited during our 5-day stay in downtown Niigata. We arrived on a rainy night, and their steak and service truly surprised us. They call it Japanese-style Western food, but I found it better than most steakhouses in Texas (except for the weight).
