R+cafe — Restaurant in Niigata

Inviting cafe next attached to the Regence Wedding Chapel. Tried the Lemon Squash, and it was carbonated well with the right amount of lemon for my tastes. Also sampled an iced oat milk latte and loved it. It was an excellent blend of medium-bodied coffee and creamy oat milk. I also tried a churro, and I love that this cafe prides itself on using 100% Koshi Hikari rice flour for their churros. There are three types: plain, cinnamon, and kinako - roasted soybean flour. I tried the kinako version, it being something distinctive to Japan, and I loved its subtle sweetness. The churro was small compared to American versions, but it was delicious. My only criticism is that it had a very melty texture inside. Most Japanese folks really enjoy the melty texture, so it’s well suited to the general population, but it just didn’t suit my palate.
