Gochisou Pizza Bar — Restaurant in Nozawaonsen

Having read the reviews, I was really excited to try this, considering that I absolutely love pizza. Unfortunately, this was a forgettable and mediocre meal (considering Nozawa has so many other good options). We ordered the crispy squid, ramen pizza, and margherita, and found that both pizzas had way too much sauce on them. The worst of the two was the ramen pizza. Because it had leeks on it, it was soaking wet by the end of the meal (roasting or grilling the leeks before putting it on the pizza might work better). The pizza itself is not bad at all. The problem is the unfriendly atmosphere and weird staff attitude. Pizzeria is usually a simple place where you go to eat good food and have fun, at least where I come from. Price for a pizza is outrageous, not even in the best pizzeria in Tokyo you pay that money. I've asked for more rucola (that was basically zero on the San Daniele) and to make me happy they put a bunch of mizuna salad leaf that is not rucola!!! Big mistake if you do that to an Italian person. Very disappointing especially if you pay 2,600 yen for that!!! You guys need to change your way of managing things or simply reduce...

A guy we met in Hokkaido told us that we must come here. We thought we’re not going to eat pizza in Japan, we want Japanese food. But he insisted and it was the best pizza we’ve had in a long time, or maybe ever. It was AMAZING!
