This region of Japan is famous for having great soba noodles, and Sobadokoro was no exception. I tried a few versions of them here (including one with an onsen egg, which proved more a distraction from rather than a complement to the noodles) and all were excellent. I also enjoyed the handouts they had about the history of soba and how to best enjoy them.
If you haven't had great soba noodles yet, definitely stop in here to broaden your ideas about what these noodles can be. If you HAVE already had a few bamboo mats of Nagano's cold soba, with radish, wasabi and dipping sauce, then while this food will still be delicious it won't necessarily be more-so than other places...

It coated the soba and made it so silky. I couldn’t get enough of it! I’m not a big eater but I ended up ordering a second soba because it was so good! The restaurant is very popular, so you have to check in several times to see if there is a table availabe - two people are allowed to wait in the restaurant. You can also reservert a table for 5.30 pm. This is the only time slot they allow reservations.
