Staff were pretty uninterested, slow, and more keen on chatting with each other than helping sort out an efficient way for people to get their gear and be on their way. Booked an 8.30am pick up and didn't get my gear until well past 10am even though I emphasised several times I had a lesson with the meeting point up the mountain at 9.45am. The staff reassured me that "it'll be right" but then kept forgetting about us so we were just waiting around when we could've grabbed our clothes and be sized for boots/helmets by ourselves with just a little bit of instruction. In the end I had to cancel my lesson because the staff had no sense of urgency (if there was a cancellation fee or wasn't able to rebook to another day I would've been proper upset). The irony is that getting dressed once having gotten everything and fixing the bindings to our boards only took less than 20 mins, meaning 1 hour was wasted just waiting for staff to direct us. Don't get me wrong, I love a yarn with a fellow Aussie as much as anyone else but there's time and place, and the time to yabber and be laid back is not when there's a line of 5 groups waiting out the door. That being said, the prices were pretty competitive, gear was in fine condition, and the ski locker close to the...
Read moreCame here a day before to get our gear sorted as my daughter signed up for lessons with them. Gear was sorted out pretty quickly. Staff was professional in teaching my daughter how to get her gear on as we clearly were first timers with snow boards. You can rent everything here from skis and snowboards to helmets and goggles and even ski wear so you can pretty much show up and rent everything here. It was also really nice not having to lug everything around as the staff will drop off everything at the ski locker ready for you the next morning.
My daughter opted for a day on skis and the second day on snowboard. Switching of gear is allowed at an additional fee of 1000yen. We just needed to come in again the next day to sort out the snowboard gear.
Instructors were really good as well. My daughter had Jan for Ski and Nikki for snowboard. Both highly recommended and daughter approved. She managed to get the ropes and able to handle the slopes on her own after just 4 hours of ski lessons and 2hours of snowboard lessons.
Thanks for making her japow ski trip a...
Read moreWe just completed a week with Nozawa Holidays and stayed at Nozawa Central Apartments for 8 nights. Great customer service from the very start asking questions about the right accommodation for us (4 adults and 2 kids) to questions about the town etc as it was our first time in Japan. On arrival we were stoked with our HUGE apartment for a week, ski hire and tickets all organised. I had a small issue with my boots on the first day which were too small but they were happy to swap. I also had a refresher lesson mid-week which I really enjoyed. Our apartment 301 was perfect for a group of six and could have slept two more. Lots of room to chill out, great kitchen facilities and close to two onsens and the bakery. The Spa Arena up the hill is great for kids and families. We had a week that our extended family will treasure forever and are already talking about coming back. Highly recommend Nozawa Holidays and Nozawa Central for a great...
